DOCUMENT DELIVERY BY MAIL
IS HERE!

Document Delivery by Mail is targeted towards students that do not come to campus regularly. Before signing up for this service please read and understand the responsibilities and conditions of service as outlined below. If you have any questions contact Frank Haulgren at 360-650-7641.

Wow! Is this service available to any WWU student?
Yes, but the most important thing to consider if you select this ILLiad delivery option is that for most students it will not be the best or fastest way to receive interlibrary loan materials. The fastest way to get the materials you have requested remains to pick them up at the Haggard Circulation Desk after receiving e-mail notice that they have arrived.

Students who will benefit most from this new service are those who come to campus once a week or less.

Who's responsible for lost materials?
Students selecting the "Mail to Home Address" delivery option have the following responsibilities:

Can I choose to only have articles mailed?
Your ILLiad user account allows you to select separate delivery preferences for loaned materials and copied articles. You may choose "Mail to Home Address" for either of these.

Can everything I request be mailed to me?
No. The interlibrary loan staff will use its judgement. Large or fragile items, items with loan periods of less than 2 weeks, videos, audio tapes and microforms will not be shipped. This includes short-term loan items borrowed through Summit.

What do I need to do to start having my ILL materials shipped?
You must choose the appropriate delivery options and maintain accurate and current personal information in your ILLiad account at all times. To do so:

How will I know where to ship books to when I am returning them?
Always return books to Wilson Library. We will include a return shipping label with each book. Securely packaging the item for return shipment is your responsibility. You will be charged for materials lost or damaged in transit.

Finally, remember that having ILL materials delivered to your home is not the best choice for every user. It will take longer for materials to get to you, the amount of time you can use the book will be shorter because shipping time eats away at the loan period, and you must bear the burden of return shipping costs. But for students who live some distance away and do not come to campus regularly we think this will be a great service.
